GL-ServerTM
Network Server for distributed ATMS
The
GL-ServerTM
program is an ATMS software component developed by IGTI, Inc. to provide
real-time GPS data streams to one or more monitoring systems or other
processes through standard TCP/IP network protocols. The data may be distributed in real-time
through the Internet, local-area-networks (LANs), or wide-area-networks
(WANs) in real-time. The GL-ServerTM is a central
component of IGTI’s Asset-Tracking-and-Management-System
(ATMS) designed to accommodate multiple monitoring stations. The GL-ServerTM
provides additional capabilities to the monitoring stations by allowing the
mobile assets to be designated as multiple separate groups, fleets or
sub-fleets. The GL-ServerTM can be configured
to add as many more regional or administrative monitoring stations as
needed. The GL-ServerTM can be configured
to accommodate other department’s vehicles and fleets if and when made
available to the system, allowing a central control center to monitor
multiple departments, divisions, or fleets from any authorized location on
a LAN, WAN, or Internet.
While the GL-Pro software with the appropriate mapping
display option can be used as a complete (stand alone) real-time tracking
and monitoring system, it does not by itself have the additional capability
to manage multiple independent fleets or groups. When there is a need to
monitor and manage multiple groups of mobile assets from multiple
locations, then the GL-ServerTM component provides
this additional capability and functionality required to manage multiple
fleets or sub-fleets. The GL-ServerTM can also assign
mobile assets to one or more groups or fleets that can be monitored from
multiple remote monitoring stations through a standard TCP/IP network
configuration. The GL-ServerTM also provides data
logging by individual unit or fleet, as well as automatic incrementing log
files by (Julian) date, for auditing and data analysis purposes. The GL-ServerTM
also provides remote server administration functions for maintaining the GL-ServerTM
database(s) as well as password protection, and user-definable fleets.
